Virtual BloomCON Hak4Kidz

3 hour virtual coding program for girls and boys (4-8th grade) with Code.org’s App Lab and Zoom.

Join Random Hacks of Kindness Junior and Ginny Weibel, Ph.D, Museum Director for the Bloomsburg Chidlren’s Museum to design and code prototype smartphone apps for projects aimed at helping address the current mental health crisis impacting teens. Helping us with this issue will be Olive Oden, Education and Stigma Reduction Specialist from United in Recovery .

The virtual hackathon is part of the museum’s yearly BloomCON Hak4Kidz. BloomCON Hak4Kidz is the only kid-friendly hacking conference in Pennsylvania. This event is produced by the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum in conjunction with the BloomCON adult hacking conference. Hak4Kidz is also affiliated with the National Hak4Kidz, held in Chicago which was the first official kid-friendly hacking conference in the United States. The event is free for students 7-17, their parents, and caregivers

Participants will experience first hand how they can use technology to create positive change.
