Hacking for Alzheimer’s

3 hour virtual coding program for girls and boys (4-8th grade) with Code.org’s App Lab and Zoom.Join with Random Hacks of Kindness Junior and the CT Chapter of Alzheimer's Association as we design and code apps addressing alzheimer's. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. Together with mentors, participants will have the opportunity to create apps that provide tools to help battle this deadly disease.

Game Design for A Cause

1 hour virtual coding camp for girls and boys (3-5th grade) with Code.org’s Game Lab and Zoom.Students will learn how to code a basic game using Code.org's Game Lab. We will meet once a day for a week from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Students will create games focused on trying to solve real world problems (like climate change, food insecurity, mental health, etc). No prior coding experience required.

Computer coding for beginners

1 hour VIRTUAL coding camp for girls and boys (1- 3rd grade) with Code.org’s Elementary School curriculum.Students will learn the basics of computer programming using Code.org's Computer Science Curriculum for Elementary school students.. We will meet daily, Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM- 4:00 PM. Participants will learn the fundamentals of computer science with drag & drop blocks. They will create their own drawings and games. No prior coding experience required.
